     Today's global challenges demand international competence for various issues that the world face and requires social work practitioners to think collectively towards a common goal. Practitioners should start working globally to establish linkages beyond cultures and formulate interventions that are culture specific and region specific. This conference aims to equip specialist social workers across the globe to participate, discuss, deliberate and share experiences that are culture specific at Regional, National, and International level. This conference will explore ground-breaking research and innovative practices in the fields of social work and related fields. I invite all our professional colleagues across the globe to participate in the conference and show our solidarity.

        We are pleased to announce the “International Social Work Conference: Interdisciplinary Intervention

and Cross cultural sharing” of the Madras School of Social Work which will be held in Chennai from

7th - 8th February 2014 organized by the Department of Social Work (Self- Financed Stream). The aim of

the Conference is to create a platform for students, practitioners, educators, professionals from NGO’s, government agencies and  related health care professionals to deliberate and share information on the subthemes focusing on Interdisciplinary Intervention and Cross cultural sharing of models and practices in India and Abroad.

      Every year the department organizes its seminar and conferences with participants from all over India. This conference is an attempt to bring together students, professional, practitioners, community partners, educators to address a wide variety of topics of significant interest under major subthemes.  Also we are bringing out a Publication with ISBN No. where papers by a Publisher of Repute. A few selected papers also will be published in online journals of repute.
